Mock Draft 2.0: Post March Madness!

The college basketball season has sadly come to an end. That means we are officially moving towards the NBA playoffs and offseason. While there is much to change with the transfer portal and whatever happens in the NBA postseason, it is still a fun exercise to think about what prospects can help NBA teams and look at who helped their stock the most in March. Please comment what prospects you may be higher or lower and who you want your team to draft!

1. Washington Wizards: Cooper Flagg, F, Duke

The Wizards add one of the best prospects we've seen in recent history. Flagg will be the gem of their already intriguing young core.

2. Brooklyn Nets: Dylan Harper, G, Rutgers

The Nets finally add a blue chip prospect to build their roster around. Harper is the clear #2 prospect in this class to me and has All-Star upside.

3: New Orleans Pelicans: VJ Edgecombe, G, Baylor

The Pelicans look to add to their backcourt. Edgecombe looks to fill in as the eventual replacement for CJ McCollum to partner with Dejounte Murray. Edgecombe profiles as a plus defender and showed improved scoring acumen throughout the college season.

4. Charlotte Hornets: Tre Johnson, G, Texas

The Hornets sadly cannot rely on LaMelo Ball to sustain a full season. Johnson adds another guard for Charlotte who can take over if Ball misses time but also will allow for Ball to play some off-ball, taking pressure and usage off of LaMelo's shoulders.

5. Utah Jazz: Ace Bailey, F, Rutgers

The Jazz can look to add at almost any position. Bailey is the most talented player on the board at this point. A tough shot maker with defensive potential, Bailey would immediately be the highest ceiling prospect on the Jazz roster.

6: Philadelphia 76ers: Khaman Maluach, C, Duke

As sad as it may be, it looks like Joel Embiid's career might be in jeopardy. Maluach has fantastic potential as a rim protector and lob threat, and looks to be a good replacement for Embiid in the future to partner with Tyrese Maxey and Jared McCain.

7: Toronto Raptors: Asa Newell, PF, Georgia

The Asa Newell gives the Raptors some more size and positional versatility as he can play the 4 or 5. Newell has great defensive instincts and I love the potential that he has shown on the offensive end.

8: San Antonio Spurs: Kon Kneuppel, W, Duke

Kneuppel seems like a fantastic piece to put around Wembanyama. An elite shooter, great cutter, and all around smart basketball player Kneuppel is a fantastic option as the Spurs look to build a playoff roster. I believe Kneuppel can eventually provide some on-ball versatility in the league as well.

9: Portland Trail Blazers: Kasparas Jakucionis, G, Illinois

The Blazers add to their log jam at the guard position but add a promising player in Jakucionis. Can play on or off ball and gives the Blazers some options if they want to explore trading Simons.

10: Houston Rockets: Derik Queen, C, Maryland

The position where the Rockets have the least amount of depth is center. Adams will be a free agent after this season. Queen is an offensive minded center, similar to Sengun, but is immensely talented and would be fun to add to the Rockets roster.

11: Miami Heat: Jeremiah Fears, PG, Oklahoma

The Heat badly need backcourt depth and snag one of the youngest prospects in the draft with Fears. The guard out of Oklahoma would look to relieve Tyler Herro of the ball handling duties.

12: Chicago Bulls: Jase Richardson, G, Michigan State

Richardson can play on or off ball for the Bulls. He has shown fantastic scoring efficiency and I believe the questions and concerns about his size will not negatively impact his draft stock.

13: Dallas Mavericks: Ben Saraf, SG, Israel

I am very high on Saraf. I think he has wonderful offensive potential. With Kyrie potentially missing a good chunk of  the 2025/26 season the Mavericks look to add some scoring threat in the backcourt with Saraf.

14: Atlanta Hawks: Collin Murray-Boyles, F, South Carolina

Murray-Boyles is another wing to add to the mix alongside Rissacher and Jalen Johnson. CMB projects to be an elite defender in the NBA.

15: San Antonio Spurs: Egor Demin, G, BYU

Demin might not be ready for the NBA yet but does have high potential. The Spurs take a chance on Demin, who might be the best passer in the class.

16: Orlando Magic: Rasheer Fleming, F, St. Joseph's

The Magic desperately need shooting on their roster and Fleming shot 39% from behind the arc this past season.

17: Minnesota Timberwolves: Carter Bryant, F, Arizona

The Wolves look to add some more depth in their wing/forward positions. Bryant didn't have a huge role this past season at Arizona but was a plus defender and shot 37% from three in limited minutes.

18: Brooklyn Nets: Noa Essengue, W/F, France

The Nets lack talent at the wing positions and Essengue is someone who I believe can add offensive threat as a smart slasher and cutter. A player to pair with the Nets previous selection in this mock draft, Dylan Harper.

19: Miami Heat: Liam McNeeley, W/F, UCONN

McNeeley has seen his stock fall after being a potential top 5 pick coming out of high school. He adds shooting potential for the Heat who can use more perimeter threats.

20: Washington Wizards: Hugo Gonzalez, W, Spain

The Wizards have loaded up on some compelling prospects and look to add another in Gonzalez. He may be a bit of a raw prospect but his playmaking upside would be fun to add in Washington.

21: Oklahoma City Thunder: Nique Clifford, W, Colorado State

The Thunder add to their surplus of talent with Clifford. Someone who can play multiple positions and likely can contribute right away to Mark Daigneault's plug and play rotations.

22: Utah Jazz: Thomas Sorber, C, Georgetown

Before getting injured Sorber showed tremendous hands and a high motor and looks to add depth to the front court of the Jazz.

23: Orlando Magic: Nolan Traore, PG, France

The Magic need to add to their backcourt depth and do this with Traore. At one point Traore was considered by many as the best guard prospect in this class.

24: Indiana Pacers: Kam Jones, G, Marquette

Kam Jones would give the Pacers another ball handler and scoring threat. He can help run the ship whenever Haliburton is not on the court but also can play as a secondary guard alongside Haliburton.

25: Atlanta Hawks: Will Riley, W, Illinois

Another wing to add to the plethora of wings in Atlanta. With the first selection of this mock the Hawks targeted a defensive minded wing, but look to a more offensive threat in Riley here.

26: Brooklyn Nets: Isaiah Evans, W, Duke

If he stays in this class, Evans is one of the very best shooters available. A very intriguing prospect to add in Brooklyn.

27: Brooklyn Nets: Danny Wolf, C, Michigan

Danny Wolf would give the Nets something they do not have, which is an offense first big man. Wolf may need to improve in several areas but his offensive skill set is very exciting.

28: Boston Celtics: Noah Penda, F, France

A potential Al Horford replacement in due time. A big bodied wing who looks to become a good defender and hustle player.

29: Phoenix Suns: Labaron Philon, G, Alabama

The Suns are in dire need of talent in almost every position. Here they add the talented freshman guard who has shown good flashes as a POA defender and ball handler.

30: Los Angeles Clippers: Boogie Fland, G, Arkansas

Fland needs to improve as a finisher but is a very good shooter and can become a depth piece at the guard position for the Clippers. I think Fland can develop to be a lead guard or secondary guard.
