Hoops and Stuff

 Tonight is the night of the NBA Draft! The future stars of our game will be starting their careers tonight. For a year we have heard about how this may be a generational draft class and we are about to see how that comes into fruition. These are my final predictions of how the draft will go. Of course there will be draft night chaos with trades, but for this mock draft I will only be making predictions based on how the draft order stands as I publish this. Let me know who you want your team to draft! 1. Washington Wizards: AJ Dybantsa, W, BYU Wizards have (somewhat puzzlingly) showed a commitment to win next year with Trae Young and perhaps AD. No matter what happens, they get their hopeful future superstar to pair with them in Dybantsa. The Wizards have a plethora of (mediocre in my opinion) young talent, and Dybantsa gives them their franchise cornerstone. 2. It is draft season! The most exciting time of the year, as teams look to add to their roster and look for the next franchise star, and impactful role players to help them reach the next level of competing. We have known about some of these prospects since they were freshly teenagers, while others really burst onto the scene in the last year. In this big board, I have written a little bit about my top 50 prospects for the 2026 NBA Draft. Some of the skills each prospect possesses that I value, some questions I may have, and what I think their likely role in the league might be. Every year there are sure to be plenty of misses, but it is always my favorite thing to do after hours and hours of research and studying for each prospect. I value how every person has a different lens they use when scouting, and these are my subjective views on each prospect! The Play-In has concluded and the NBA Playoffs officially tip off today. This, of course, means it is time to hand out our NBA awards from 2025-26 season. We have watched this players since October and now is the time for them to get their recognition. We are going to follow the 65 game rule, which means of course some key players will be missing from this list. Comment which players you think deserve some more attention for the season they had! MOST VALUABLE PLAYER Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Shai followed up his historic MVP season from a year ago with a season just as dominant. He is the best scorer in the league and is the head of the snake for the best team in the league. If OKC repeats, and Shai gets another Finals MVP, then one of your favorite players will soon be replaced on the all time list.  The madness is almost here! With conference championships already starting up, it feels like the perfect time to give out my personal awards for All-Conference teams! We did this for every major conference and ONLY conference play was taken into account for these awards. Team success and games played were also taken into account, meaning stars like UNC's Caleb Wilson, TTU's J.T. Toppin or BYU's Richie Saunders were not selected, despite them obviously being amongst the best in their conference. Some conferences like to put 10+ players into their all-conference team, but that is bogus! We challenged ourselves to give just two teams per conference, giving our opinions on the most impactful players! Obviously there is more that goes into impact than just stats, but we will include each players Points/Rebounds/Assists and their shooting splits by FG%/3PT%/FT%.  Here we are. There are two weeks left in the season for teams to solidify their seeding in the playoffs and for players to finish off their regular seasons with positive momentum heading into the playoffs or the offseason. This is the last of our monthly power rankings, where we give our thoughts on who the best players and teams are in the NFL, as well as where our current award ballots would fall. Rankings not only take into account current form, but the season as a whole. These are our final power rankings before the end of the regular season!
